Now for the final post for the blog tour.....My Review!!!!

My thoughts

5 Stars *****
Let me just start by saying WOW.....This book was absolutely amazing!!  For Amy's first attempt at NA, I think she went above and beyond.  I couldn't put this book down.  Definitely read through it in less than 2 full days.  The emotions throughout this book are extremely real and you can tell that Amy did her research.  One of the things I love about Amy's books is that they keep you guessing until the very end.  This story was no stranger to the twists and turns and that is what made it so intriguing.  I always had to find out what was coming next.
The characters are "FABULOUS" together.  What a perfect mix of personalities to really bring this story to life.   Gracie is so amazing and you just have to fall in love with her.  She is beyond strong to continue on after all that she endures.  Definitely a role model character for women.  Even though she is a little naive in the beginning, she begins to come into her own as the story continues and I was rooting for her all the way.  Cam is the best friend that I always wanted.  He is beyond the expectations of what a best friend should be like and Gracie is so lucky to have him in her life.  Ashton is so dreamy.  He definitely makes the story interesting.  I'm not going to give the story away, so I'll just stop there, hehehe :)
Overall, this story was an emotional rollercoaster ride with super highs and hell depth lows.  It really makes you feel for these characters who are going through some really difficult situations.  I definitely cried, screamed, laughed, got angry, and smiled all while reading this.  I have to say that Amy did an amazing job to draw the emotions out of the reader like she does and can really get you thinking about what is going to happen next.  The twist and turns throughout are sometimes blindsides that are definitely needed and I extremely enjoy them.  The story never gets boring.  Amy, you rock and I know I tell you that all the time, but it is so true.  This book rocked my socks and I totally recommend it to everyone I talk to!!  I can't wait to see what you have coming up next for this series and these amazing characters!!!  Wonderful job my friend!!!

And I just have to add the Cam Moment Excerpt, because he is FABULOUS
****Cameron was sitting on the couch. He snickered and pointed. “Nice bed head.”
I reached up to smooth my hair down. “Where’s Ash?”
He acted offended. “Nice to see you too, sunshine.”
I rolled my eyes. “You know I’m always glad to see you. Would you like something to eat?”
With an old English accent he stated, “Yes fair maiden, fetch me food!”
I turned away from him. “Wanna guess how many fingers I’m holding up?” I strolled to the kitchen, whistling.
Cameron followed like a lost puppy. I turned almost bumping into him. “Personal space, man.”
He stepped back from me, “Sorry. What are we going to make?”
I opened the fridge, “Hmm. Eggs, bacon and French toast…how does that sound?”
His stomach growled in response. He pointed to his stomach and says, “Little Cam says that sounds delish.”
I cocked an eyebrow at him, “So that’s what you call Little Cam?”
He stuck his hand on his hip and said, “Yep, cause ain't nothing else little.”  I snorted with laughter.****

I love this revamped cover.....It is absolutely stunning!!!!

Blurb for The Edge of Darkness

I loved to dance, but I don’t anymore.
I was in an accident I don’t remember… or maybe I don’t want to remember.
Either way, every day since, has been an adjustment and I’m left with a constant reminder that nothing is forever.
Now, my life is a tangled web of darkness filled with deceit, hate, betrayal and lies. I don’t dwell on the past, I don’t regret and I don’t remember… I survive. But then I met Ryland Dare and he changed everything. He reminded me that life’s worth living and that remembering isn’t always a bad thing.
You don’t know true darkness until you've felt light…
On the outside looking in, some would say my siblings and I have had a pretty easy life. But beyond the fancy cars, the huge house and endless social events, is where the truth really lies. Power hungry father, defeated mother and fake friends? Yeah I have one of each. Then Araya Noelle comes along and shows me what I’ve been missing. She thinks I changed her life, but really, she saved mine.
At the edge of darkness, you must

I find it hard to sum up my life in a paragraph, but I'll try.

Reading has always been a passion for me and writing is as instinctive as breathing. Every inhale is an idea; every exhale a creation. Flutter, The Discover Series was my debut release and since then I have written a contemporary romance, The Edge of Darkness. The only thing I do better than writing? Making beautiful, sassy and independent, girls. My daughter's will always be my greatest accomplishment, my biggest fans and my every inspiration. I live, breath and would die for them! I've been married to one of the greatest men in my life for 7 years and I love him more than chocolate (you know shit just got real :), Justin Timberlake and Friday's. Without him my website would be a mess and I would probably being paying more taxes than I should be. He is a jack of many trades and this is just my opinion but I like to think besides my daughters, I'm his second biggest accomplishment. (Does anyone else hear a horn tooting?)I was born in Denver, Colorado -but I will always think of sunny Arizona as my home. I don't have a big family, but I'm close with my sister, brother & my mom. My mom is my hero, my inspiration, and I couldn't have asked for a more amazing person to be raised by. She has supported me throughout this crazy adventure and I'm lucky to have her on my side!

6 things you should know about me:
1. I'm a tornado with lipstick! Translation: I'm very girly, but I can get down and dirty with the best of them.
2. I adore the color pink!
3. I love things that sparkle (including vampires!)
4. I like even numbers (hence 6 things about me, not 5)
5. I'm loyal to a fault but I like to see the good in everybody. Don't mistake my kindness for weakness though because my bark is not always bigger than my bite :))
6. I don't like calling readers 'fans'. When it come down to it, I am all YOUR biggest fan! MWAH!I will never be able to thank every reader, every blogger or every author who has helped me in one or a million ways since I published but I will try every chance I get. Y'all are the reason I am here and every comment, every message, every review makes me feel like I have a reason to be. So to the moon and back, THANK YOU!

Okay, so this was a little longer than a paragraph.

Excerpt
As soon as I arrived at my temporary apartment, I dropped my keys on the counter, blared some Laura Welsh on the stereo, and then trudged for the shower. The water was soothing. I didn’t want to step out of the steam, especially as I was bombarded with memories.
Gage and me on the FireNine tour bus. Gage kissing me, licking me, soiling me with his fervent kisses. I quivered, running a finger across my lips, remembering the kiss we shared when he stayed the night at Ben’s a few days ago. The passion I felt, the power. It was so much, yet I couldn’t get enough. My lips were still tingling from it… from how much I missed it. How much I missed him.
Soon, the water chilled against my skin and I shut it off, ran a towel over my damp hair, and grabbed an extra towel to wrap around my wet skin. I brushed my teeth, cleared my face with handful of cool water, and then headed for my bedroom.
Laura Welsh sang about hollow drums and it was like she spoke to me—like she reminded me of how much I actually missed Gage. How hollow and empty I felt without him while I was in school and even now. In school it was worse. Every little thing reminded me of him. Every couple that walked by hand in hand reminded me of him. All the girls who were smiling up at their boyfriends lovingly, clinging to their sides, holding them like they never wanted to let go… it all reminded me of him. I couldn’t stand it… but I missed it. I rolled my eyes, trying to rid my mind of him, but it was nearly impossible.
Even as I changed into a pair of running shorts and a tank top and dropped the towel from my hair, I still thought about him. Even as I poured myself a bowl of cereal and ate it to the heartfelt music, I still thought about him. Even as I lounged flat on my back on the sofa, my hand on my forehead, staring at the dots on the ceiling, I still thought about him.
About his eyes, his full, pink lips that always sent a bolt of electricity coursing through me whenever connected with mine. His hard, rippled body, the perfect sleeve of ink on his forearms, broad chest, ribs, and even his back.
The ceiling seemed to spin above me as the music filled me, and then I felt the rims of my eyes pricking, begging for the pooling tears to be shed. I couldn’t believe it. I missed everything about him. I fucking missed him. Entirely too much.
There was a knock on the door and I perked up, back stiff, staring ahead. They knocked again and I swiped at my tears, confused. Who could be at my door this late? I cautiously made my way to the entrance, my heart pounding, my steps soft, making sure I didn’t cross any weak spots to make the floor creak.
I took a peek out of the peephole and made out a tousled mess of silky, dark-brown hair and broad shoulders. His head was ducked down, hiding his face, but I knew exactly who it was and I stifled a gasp.
My mind then went into gear. Should I let him in? Should I shoo him away? Should I blast him and beg him to just leave me alone?
In the end, I knew I couldn’t do any of those, no matter how upset I may have been with him. I did love him, after all.
I cracked open the door and he jerked away from the doorframe, taking a quick step back, his hazel eyes meeting mine. “Gage?”
“Eliza,” he whispered. His eyes were tired, restless. His lips were strained, as if he wanted to say something else, but then they relaxed and he ran a hand through his hair.
“Why are you here?” I asked, opening the door wider. He pressed the palm of his hand on the door and stepped past me, his heavy cologne filling my lungs. It mixed with the light, airy scent of water, as if he’d purposely walked in the drizzle. I could imagine him pacing back and forth in front of the apartment building, debating on whether he should come up or not. “Better yet,” I said, “how did you know where this apartment was?” I locked the door before looking at him.
“Frank told me,” he sighed out. “Look… I can’t do this,” he said, running another rigid hand through his hair. A few pieces fell onto his forehead, proving he would need a haircut in maybe three days tops. His eyes saddened and filled with guilt and I narrowed mine, tilting my head.
“Do what?” I asked, stepping up.
“This… I can’t be angry anymore. I can’t act like I don’t fucking care. I want—” His sentence broke and his gaze lowered to the floor. Good thing the music was playing, filling the silence, because I wasn’t sure of what to say, but I knew what he was getting at. “I wasn’t supposed to come here. I wasn’t supposed to see you. I was supposed to fight myself from getting close to you again—for your sake—but… I can’t. I can’t fight it. It’s so fucking hard to stay away from you, Eliza.”

My Thoughts

Gage Grendel (lead singer)

Where do I even begin....It's just so hard to put into words just how amazing this book was.  I couldn't put it down.  This has to be one of my favorite series of all time.  Book 1, Who He Is, crushed me into a million little pieces and I could not wait to see what was going to happen next.  I'm not even going to lie, I was really depressed with the ending of book 1, that I didn't even want to read book 2, in fear that I would be left empty again.  However, Shanora reassured me and I needed to know what happens to my favorite group of characters, so I continued on.  As you can tell I was not disappointed.  This book picks right up where the first one left off, story wise not time frame wise,  and definitely left me with a smile!!

Eliza Smith (Heroine)

The characters play extremely well together.  They have such great chemistry and each person plays a significant role throughout the story.  The introduction of some new faces and the combination of the original characters is really great!!  Kelsey and Monica are great compliments to Eliza and I enjoyed the other female interaction that wasn't really present in book 1.  I also love Kristina.  It breaks my heart to go through this story with her.  Gage is still amazing and I love that he cares about taking care of everyone that means anything to him.  He has such an amazing heart and he makes me melt!!  Definitely my current book boyfriend!!! :)  I also really liked that we got to learn a little more about Roy in this story.  He is a really supportive character and it was exciting that he was more involved!!  Not so much from Deed this time and Montana still makes his presence known.  Gotta love Montana!!! :)

Montana Delray (bassist)

The storyline is over an extended period of time and I really like that it doesn't lag.  It was an easy flow and focused on major details.  It's so hard to review this book without giving away everything that happened.  I just loved it so much I just want to talk about every little detail, lol.  But, I don't want to ruin it for anyone and I want everyone to experience this greatest for themselves, so I'm not going to go any farther with this one!!

Roy Sykes (lead guitarist)

So I'm just going to say that I give this book 5 stars (but it definitely deserves a million)  I definitely cried a lot through the last several chapters because I felt so close to these characters and I wanted everything to work out for them.  It did for some and not for others.  But overall, this ending made up for the heart shattering ending of Book 1.  Shanora, you are amazing and I absolutely adore this series.  It is my favorite so far and I can't wait to see what you have to come!!!  Rock on rock star!!!

Dedrick 'Deed' Parsley (drummer)

He's sworn to never allow happiness into his life . . . but then beautiful, sweet Nova makes him smile. My Thoughts
So let me just start by saying that this has to be one of my absolute favorite books by Jessica that I have read so far.  The raw emotion that is intertwined into the chaotic lives of both Nova and Quinton, is so haunting, but most importantly extremely real.  This book is intended for an older audience.  The story draws the reader in right at the prologue.  For the two main characters who had to endeavor such pain and suffering and the burden that is carried is so complex.  As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours.  That is the best way to describe both Nova and Quinton's situations, without giving anything away.  Sorry everyone, no spoilers in this post!!

Nova is an extremely strong lead character.  She tries to control every aspect of her life with her daily routine.  After the trauma she endured, she needed to feel in control of everything around her.  As for Quinton, ladies, he is mister mysterious and one emotional rollercoaster ride.  However, that's what makes this character so raw and real.  His life changed one night and he will never get it back again.  He makes a promise that he intends to keep, until Nova turns his world upside down.  They are definitely what each other needs to save them from themselves.  However, neither one wants to let the other in and that becomes an up and down, merry-go-round one might call it, ride.  Overall, they have amazing chemistry and they are just drawn to one another no matter what.  The other characters in the story play well off of each other.  Nova's best friend, Delilah, helps Nova during hard times, but soon becomes a problem herself.  I really feel for her and the destructive path that the story leads her down.  All of the characters take a walk on the "wild" side and wander the path of self destruction.  Some make it out and others not so much.  As for the guys, Dylan and Tristan, I'm not a huge fan of Dylan's.  He reminds me to much of someone I use to know and I'm just not digging it.  He does however make the story interesting.  Tristan, I feel for him.  He lost a lot from his life and he just seems to be losing himself.  He's just going with what each day brings, no matter what it is, but doesn't seem to catch a break.  I really hope things look up for him soon!!

Well I can ramble on all day about this book, it was really just that good.  So I definitely give this book 5 stars, more if it were allowed.  It was another one of those books that once it starts going, you can't put it down no matter how hard you try.  I had to see what was going to happen next.  As for the ending, it takes a turn, that normally I would be completely opposed to, but for this storyline it is perfect.  Nova is beyond strong and her true personality shines and I just adore that.  I can't wait to see what Jessica has in store for these emotional complex characters that I love!!!  So overall, this is a read for a mature audience that is looking for a storyline with real life obstacles and how some people deal with traumatic hurtles.  It is an emotional rollercoaster ride that sends you spinning, but in a good way.  Great work as always Jessica!!! :)
